Frequently asked questions
Research on blue light glasses is mixed for eye strain, but there is stronger evidence for their effect on sleep. Blue light from screens suppresses melatonin production in the evening. Blocking it in the 2-3 hours before bed reduces that suppression, which can help you fall asleep faster and sleep more soundly. For daytime use, many wearers report reduced eye fatigue and headaches during long screen sessions.
Focus (clear lens) suits most people for everyday screen use. FocusPlus (yellow lens) is better if you spend long hours under fluorescent or LED office lighting, or if you find standard blue light glasses are not enough. SleepSync (red lens) is designed specifically for the 2-3 hours before bed, when blocking the full blue and green light spectrum makes the biggest difference to sleep quality.
Yes. Focus and FocusPlus lenses are both available with prescription glazing. You can enter your prescription details at checkout. SleepSync is currently available in non-prescription only.
Melatonin production increases in the evening as your body prepares for sleep. Blue and green light from screens and artificial lighting suppresses that process, keeping your brain in a more alert state later into the night. SleepSync lenses block the full blue and green light spectrum (380-550nm). Wearing them 2-3 hours before bed protects your natural sleep rhythm without requiring you to stop using screens entirely.
Focus has a clear lens that blocks the lower end of the blue light spectrum (380-450nm), reducing eye strain with no visible tint. FocusPlus has a yellow lens that blocks a wider range (380-500nm), better suited to harsher lighting environments or more sensitive eyes. SleepSync has a red lens that blocks blue and green light entirely (380-550nm) and is designed for evening use to protect sleep quality.
For Focus and FocusPlus, you can wear them any time you are in front of screens or under artificial lighting. There is no need to limit use. For SleepSync, we recommend wearing them for 2-3 hours before your intended sleep time. Wearing them earlier in the day is not necessary and the strong amber tint would affect colour perception during daylight hours.
